ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Bobby! I live in Seattle with my wife and our two quirky cats.
I'm an obsessive note-taker (addicted to Obsidian), a relentless reader, and an ardent defender of the Oxford comma.
I love learning new things by reading 70+ books per year, watching MasterClasses and TED talks, and listening to podcasts. And once I've learned something, I come to my website to share it with others.
Work
I've spent the past decade managing teams and training managers. In that time, I've gotten the chance to build onboarding and manager training programs from scratch at multiple startups and SMBs, lead teams through hypergrowth as well as layoffs, facilitate thousands of meetings, and train hundreds of managers and executives.
Writing
My goal with this site is to share tips that help readers become better leaders, learners, and communicators.
My writing has garnered 1M+ views and appeared in dozens of publications, including Fast Company, The Startup, and Entrepreneur's Handbook.
Reading
I share tons of reading recommendations and book reviews on this site. I always love hearing recommendations from readers too. Drop me a comment or email with your recs. I'd love to hear them!
Book Reviews
You’ll notice that I give strong reviews to the vast majority of books I review. That’s because the purpose of this blog is largely to share awesome books—not terrible ones.
Just like you, I occasionally read books that I don’t particularly enjoy. However, I don’t think it’s worth your time or mine to post a review just to tear into a book. If you are interested in hearing about business books you may actually enjoy, make yourself at home reading my reviews.
Thanks for checking out my site. I hope you enjoy it and stumble upon useful information to guide your life, your career, and your next reading selection.

Any comments about money or finance information (including quotes shared in book reviews) should not be taken as financial advice.
Note: I am a participant in affiliate associate programs that are designed to provide a means for me to earn fees by linking to affiliated sites like Bookshop.org. While I do receive revenue when users purchase books with links from my site, every review represents my honest appraisal of the book and its author. My reputation is on the line; if I refer readers to books they don't like, they won't look to me for future reading recommendations. Overall, this site is not a "money-maker"—it's an enjoyable, professional hobby.
